Weekly Beauty Obsession

Good Morning! Today I am sharing a nail product that I have been loving for a while now and it’s the Sally Hanson Advanced Hard as Nails Strengthener. Normally I don’t need to use specific nail products. However back in January I had acrylic nails put on and I never found time to go back to the nail salon to get them filled in. Which left my nails destroyed and very weak, there wasn’t anything I could do with them. When I started using the Advanced Hard as Nails strengthener my nails finally started to get healthy again. This helped my nails so much, they aren’t weak and brittle anymore. It feels so good to finally have healthy nails back! With that being said, I probably won’t be getting acrylics back on anytime soon. They are too much upkeep and I like keeping my natural nails feeling and looking healthy. Morning Routine Tips

 :  I know that many of you can relate to this on a Monday morning (or any morning for that matter). Today I thought I would share some simple tips that can make your mornings less hectic and stressful. That way you can actually enjoy your coffee in the mornings and go to work not feeling like a hot mess.

  • First if your like me you can’t just jump out of bed and start the day. I always play on my phone for about 15 minutes. I need some time in the morning to actually wake up before I get out of bed. I will typically set my alarm clock 10-15 minutes before I want to start getting ready. That way I can play on my phone, have time to wake up (not in a bad mood lol) and still be on time.
  • Next is makeup, there are some day I want a full face of makeup or I don’t want to wear makeup at all. You need to set a simple makeup routine that you know you can do no matter what outfit you are wearing, or how tired you are. For me I will typically do a BB cream, concealer, bronzer, mascara and lip gloss if I’m in a hurry. It’s easy for me and doesn’t take much time but I still look put together. A “five minute face” will vary for everybody, it’s important to find what works for you and stick to it.
  • This tip you’ve herd a million times, your parents have told you and know you should be doing it but probably don’t, and it’s to pick your outfit the night before. This seriously saves me so much time in the mornings and if I don’t do this there is a 90% chance I will be late because I don’t know what to wear. Even if you are too tired to pick something out the night before, look and see if you have at least one put together outfit in your closet. If you have at least one complete outfit, you can throw that on in the morning and not stress trying to find a shirt that is probably in the dirty pile ready to be washed.
  • Lastly you already know breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Even if you don’t like eating in the mornings grab a granola bar or something that you can throw in your purse to eat on the go. If you don’t take something with you to eat, chances are that you are going to be starving for lunch and it will temp you to just eat whatever you find. Typically that leads to eating foods that aren’t good for you, or it can lead to overeating at lunch and then you feel horrible the rest of the day. This is something that too many people ignore.

Fabulous Friday

She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25:  We made it Friday is here!!! I think sometimes we get too caught up in everything that is happening in our lives and it’s easy to want to be in control of it all. However the reality is that we can’t be in control of every situation. Sometimes things are going to happen if we like it or not. This is one of my favorite versus because it reminds me that even though I can’t always be in control, everything is going to turn out just fine. All we can do is get up, take a deep breath and laugh without fear of the future. I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend.

Easy Healthy Habits

Alright so I know we all love to play with makeup and try out new looks, but looking good doesn’t do anything for you if you don’t feel good on the inside first. I think some people have forgotten what it’s like to feel 100% amazing from the inside out. However, there are three easy things you can do to help you improve your lifestyle and will make you feel great.

  1. The first thing you’ve probably herd a million times but every time I try it I always find it to be true and it’s to drink more water. It can be hard to track how much water your drinking and can sometimes be boring. What I have found that works for me though is getting a tervis water bottle, they are 24 oz., and I aim to drink 3-4 of these a day. I find that I’m not as hungry and I feel so much better cause I’m not dehydrated. I don’t mind just drinking water because I’m use to it by now but when I do want something different I just add some crystal light to my water and it tastes so good!

2.Next I don’t know about you but I can find myself snacking during the day when I’m not even hungry. By the end of the day I know I overate and don’t feel good at all. An easy way for me to curb this is tracking what I eat. The easiest way in my opinion to do this is by the app MyFitnessPal. You set up goals for yourself whether it’s to gain, loose or maintain weight and then it gives you macros. All “macros” are is the amount of protein, fat and carbs that you should be in-taking, along with how many calories you should be eating. This is something I do daily and allows me to fit in foods that I actually want to eat. (This pic is not my account, I just inserted it to show what the app looks like)

3. Lastly it’s something that cannot be avoided and it’s working out. I know this is something that many people dread but you shouldn’t. When I was younger I would always view working out as a negative thing and hated doing it. When I changed how I viewed working out it made a huge difference to me. I didn’t view it as something negative but as a way to relieve stress. After I started doing that I felt so much better, I woke up with more energy, and didn’t feel so stressed out over small things. All it takes is trying out different workouts and find which one is your favorite, that way you will actually like exercising, or at least not mind it as much!

These are three things that I do daily and it really helps me get back on track if I have a cheat day, or cheat weekend 😉 I hope this helped you and that you are able to try this out.   1. When and why did you get into makeup?

I have always loved wearing makeup ever since I was little. Growing up I only wore makeup for dance or cheerleading performances. In high school I barely ever wore makeup to school. When I was about 18/19 I started watching Jaclyn Hill on Youtube and she inspired me to venture out and try new things in makeup.

  1. Who/what’s your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration in beauty/fashion is Lauren Conrad I love her style and think she is an amazing business woman. In everyday life it’s my family, they have showed me that no matter what life throws at you to keep your faith and you can make it through anything.

  1. Celebrity crush?

Definitely Tim Tebow! lol

  1. What makeup product could you not live without?

Lipgloss hands down. I had a collection when I was little and have always loved it. It’s also partially how I came up with “TheGlossyLife”.

  1. What made you start a blog?

I have always been interested in blogging and decided 2016 was the year that I am going to step out of my comfort zone and try it.

  1. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

I’ve learned that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and to be grateful for what you have. I truly feel blessed to live the life I have and wouldn’t change a thing.

  1. Favourite movie?

The Princess Diaries, I love Anne Hathaway

  1. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I would hope to be a successful business woman (In blogging and real estate, my other job) and having a family.

  1. If your blog wasn’t beauty based, what would it be about?

While my blog is mainly beauty based I hope to start incorporating more fashion, fitness and lifestyle posts.

My favorite blogger is Lauren Conrad she has inspired me in so many ways. She has a blog, two clothing lines, is an author and the list goes on.

My goal for TheGlossyLife is to just keep growing and improving every day. Also to hopefully do some collabs in the future.
