Hi loves, I wanted to start this week off with a fun bonus post! Today I am doing a review of the Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free + Balance foundation review. I have been testing this product out for a few weeks and haven’t written a post about it yet because it confused me. I’m not obsessed with this foundation but I still like it, doesn’t make sense right…I’ll explain.
I was excited to try this because it says it’s made for combination skin types (I’m normal to combo skin) and it has a powder core. I will give Maybelline creativity points because I have never seen anything else in the drugstore like this. However, this foundation is not for all of my full coverage 24/7 girls, it is much more of a natural to sheer coverage foundation.
My first impression of this was that I hated it, I thought it didn’t do anything to my skin and was a waste. After using it a few times I started to like it more. You have to apply the foundation to your face in sections and run the foundation over your skin 3-4 times for it to look good. I love using this for an everyday/work look because it evens out my redness, it dries to a powder finish so I don’t have to set my face with powder and it will last me through an 8 hour shift. If you have very dry skin you will probably not like this because the powder finish may leave your skin looking dehydrated. For my normal to oily girls who like a natural finish foundation I would definitely recommend you give this a try.
What’s your latest drugstore find? Let me know in the comments, drink your coffee and have a fabulous Monday.
Hey everyone, I hope your week is off to a good start so far. I have some very exciting news that I couldn’t wait any longer to share!
Earlier this year I found a business on Twitter called Aptitude Apparel, and they were in the process of launching their fitness clothing line. Ever since their first launch I thought their clothes were so cute, I had to try them for myself. I didn’t really know what to expect from them so when I got my first order in, I couldn’t believe I didn’t buy them sooner. A few weeks ago they were accepting Ambassador applications, I found it on the last day and figured why not try it. Three days later I found out that I was accepted as an Aptitude Apparel Ambassador. I am so excited to be an ambassador for a fitness clothing line that I genuinely love. Of course I couldn’t wait to do a mini photo shoot to show you all some clothes.
(They included a handwritten card in the package, so it made it more personable.)
I did more of a “lifestyle” shoot because I think their clothes are great for in and out of the gym. The shirt is my favorite, it has a dry fit type of material, is lightweight and perfect for an everyday look.
I didn’t get the chance to shoot pics of the pants I have because it rained right after my little sis took these pictures (thanks to Florida lol). However you can find pictures over on the Aptitude Apparel Instagram page here. If you want to order some clothes to see how good they are for yourself you can shop at www.aptitude-apparel.com. I love that their clothes are super affordable but if you want an even bigger discount use the code ALISSA10 for 10% off your order.
If you order anything let me know what you get and I will see you all back on Friday 🙂
Hi everyone, I hope you all have had a fabulous week. I thought today I would do a little life update post as to why I’ve been M.I.A from blogging for the past week.
It started out being in a blogging rut, I had absolutely no idea what to post about. As summer is coming to an end, the excitement for fall is getting to me. I have not been wanting to post any more summer makeup looks or anything and have wanted to just jump into fall, but it’s still kind of early for that. However come September I won’t be able to wait any longer and fall posts will be here! Then, I also added coaching cheerleading back on my list and we have just ended week 2. From my evenings & nights being occupied, to having my typical crazy work schedule and then getting into a blogging rut, I got stuck. Thankfully I finally got my schedule back on track and I have more blog ideas coming to me.
Also, I have to mention The Glossy Life officially got it’s own Twitter account! Connect with me on Twitter here and I will follow you back. I love being able to support fellow bloggers, it’s such a fun community to be apart of. Lastly, I will still continue to upload every Tuesday & Friday 🙂 so make sure you come back on Tuesday so we can hang out again.
Let me know what you are looking forward to this weekend (my plans include Netflix & my bed after I get out of work lol).
Hello everyone, can you believe it’s already August?! It seems so crazy to me that fall is right around the corner. While I am going to get the most out of this last month of summer, I am so excited to have pumpkin spice lattes and glammed up makeup looks again.
Looking back at the makeup looks I have done on here so far they are mostly natural looks, because that’s what I wear on a day-to-day basis. However I want to start stepping out of my comfort zone and do more smokey, intense, fun looks. Today I did a halo inspired eye look, which I am now obsessed with! I have been wanting to dip into my Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette and play with the shade Matt Kumar because it’s a gorgeous red shade that can be used so many ways. I was going to do a step by step tutorial on this look but quickly realized that this would take 20 minutes to read, nobody has that kind of time lol. Instead, I am going to list the makeup products I used. If you want a tutorial on this looks let me know in the comments and I can do a video on it 🙂
