Weekly Beauty Obsession

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous week. I am coming back with one of my favorite posts with a weekly beauty obsession 🙂 (even though today’s product is technically a skin care item). Over the past year I have considered skin care as part of my beauty routine. If you neglect to take good care of your skin then your makeup isn’t going to look as flawless as you want it to (no matter how “full coverage” of a foundation you get).
I have made sheet masks a part of my routine 2-3 times a week. I avoided trying them for the longest time because I thought everyone was just hyping up a product. I thought they weren’t going to work as good as I wanted. However, I was completely wrong! They are amazing, if your skin is dry, acne prone, oily or everything there is a sheet mask that will work for your face.
After trying many different brands my ultimate favorite is currently the Leader’s Insolution brand found in Ulta. These sheet masks come soaking in serum (literally the mask is drenched in serum lol). To me this is extremely important because you don’t want the sheet mask to dry out in five minutes. To ensure your face is soaking up all of the nutrients in the mask I like to leave it on as long as I can (usually 15-30 minutes). My favorite is the AC Clear treatment mask & the Hydrating mask, this time though I tried out the Tea Tree one and it’s great for when your face is breaking out.
What is your favorite sheet mask or facial to use?

Weekly Beauty Obsession💄

Happy Monday! I am so excited to be posting a weekly beauty obsession because I feel like it’s been forever since I have done one. I have currently been loving the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Powder. I was looking a while for a powder that had decent coverage for days when I don’t want to wear foundation, and I was so happy when I found this.

I love this for days when I don’t want to wear foundation, or when I want extra coverage over my foundation. While it doesn’t claim to be a long wearing powder it last all day on my skin. It is Maybelline’s first skin powder that has salicylic acid, which is suppose to help clear/fight breakouts. Which I love because it doesn’t clog my pores and doesn’t irritate my skin. Although, I wish Maybelline had a bigger shade range for this line, the 8 shades they do have are good for many different skin tones. It does come with a sponge applicator but I find that using a big powder brush applies the product better. Overall I love this product and will definitely be repurchasing it! You can find it at most drugstores, I got mine at Ulta.com for only $10.99.

If you have any other face powder recommendations for me to try let me know in the comments! Check back later this week for another post 🙂

Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free + Balance Review

Hi loves, I wanted to start this week off with a fun bonus post! Today I am doing a review of the Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free + Balance foundation review. I have been testing this product out for a few weeks and haven’t written a post about it yet because it confused me. I’m not obsessed with this foundation but I still like it, doesn’t make sense right…I’ll explain.

I was excited to try this because it says it’s made for combination skin types (I’m normal to combo skin) and it has a powder core. I will give Maybelline creativity points because I have never seen anything else in the drugstore like this. However, this foundation is not for all of my full coverage 24/7 girls, it is much more of a natural to sheer coverage foundation.

My first impression of this was that I hated it, I thought it didn’t do anything to my skin and was a waste. After using it a few times I started to like it more. You have to apply the foundation to your face in sections and run the foundation over your skin 3-4 times for it to look good. I love using this for an everyday/work look because it evens out my redness, it dries to a powder finish so I don’t have to set my face with powder and it will last me through an 8 hour shift. If you have very dry skin you will probably not like this because the powder finish may leave your skin looking dehydrated. For my normal to oily girls who like a natural finish foundation I would definitely recommend you give this a try.

What’s your latest drugstore find? Let me know in the comments, drink your coffee and have a fabulous Monday.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette Review

Welcome back 🙂 I hope you are having a fabulous week so far and enjoying summer. On my last makeup shopping day I found the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette at Ulta on sale. So since it was on sale it was meant to be right? Not only that but I had my little sister next to me convincing me that I needed this lol (which wasn’t hard to do). The palette retailed for $60 and I scooped it up for only $20 which is amazing considering you almost never find Urban Decay on sale.

When I opened this palette I was immediately obsessed. It is mostly neutral shadows with a few pops of color. I love that because it makes for amazing everyday looks, and you still have a few fun colors when you are feeling adventurous. The shadows are great quality, it’s Urban Decay so it’s what you’d expect right? They are creamy and smooth, and I love all of them. However my least favorite are Serious and Blackout, because they go on patchy and you really have to work at blending them for it to look good. That still isn’t a deal breaker for me though, they are beautiful shadows and I’m obsessed!

This palette is limited edition and Ulta no longer has it. However if you still want to purchase this palette it is on sale on the Sephora website for $25, and if you want it buy it soon before it sells out! I hope you enjoyed this review, if you want me to do more reviews let me know in the comments.
